Record Voting for ACDA Elections
Online voting has led to the highest percentage of ACDA voting on record in the recently concluded election. In the election for ACDA President Elect Designate, Karen Fulmer was chosen by the ACDA membership for this leadership position. Karen's choral music education and performance career has been focused in the area of middle school and high school choral music teaching.
Also on the ballot were three Bylaw amendment changes, which passed overwhelmingly. Those bylaw changes reassign the Chair of the ACDA Membership Committee from President Elect to the Chair of the Past Presidents' Council; change the phrase "voting by mail" to include "voting by electronic means"; and change the name of the "Children's Choirs" Repertoire & Standards area to "Children and Youth Community Choirs."
In the four ACDA Division presidential elections, Brent Ballweg was elected president in the Southwestern Division, Robert Duff in the Eastern Division, Mary Kay Geston in the North Central Division, and Gary Weidenaar in the Northwestern Division.

Karen Fulmer elected
Howard Meharg, Vancouver, WA
I think it safe to speak for NW divisional members in saying we're absolutely delighted that Karen Fulmer was elected President-Elect Designate for the national organization. We know well of her superb skills, leadership. personality, and charisma in this part of the country. Her enthusiasm and support of all things ACDA has been evident for 25 years. She will be a wonderful president!
Re: Howard
Cheers, Howard!
I couldn't agree more. Karen is not only a talented musician and teacher, but a really skilled and enthusiastic leader who really believes heart and soul in this organization. She and Twyla Brunson took me under their wings as a young teacher and got me involved before I even knew what hit me and pushed me out of the nest before I even knew I had wings and then you all kept adding feathers. . .and I've been preening them ever since (have to take care of what I've been given). I'm so excited to see where ACDA goes under her leadership. She's a gem- and one that will touch many many more people's lives.
