Eastern New Mexico University Chamber Singers
The Eastern New Mexico University Chamber Singers is an auditioned ensemble of 20 singers specializing in performing choral music from all eras. The ensemble tours regionally, has performed with the Amarillo, Roswell, Santa Fe, and Southwest symphonies, as well as Caprock Pro Musica, and was featured at the New Mexico Music Educators Association State Conference in 2008.
In April 2008, Chamber Singers, along with ENMU University Singers, combined for the world premiere performance of The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere, a five-movement large-scale work scored for choirs and wind symphony, composed and conducted by René Clausen. The composition was commissioned by the ENMU Friends of Music and performed by ENMU Choirs and Bands on the Portales campus.
Jason Paulk is director of choral activities and assistant professor of music at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico, where he conducts the University Singers, Chamber Singers, and Swanee Singers ensembles, and teaches beginning and advanced conducting courses. His degrees include a BME from Stetson University, an MM in conducting and an MM in music education from Westminster Choir College, and a DMA from the University of Oklahoma. Jason taught at Deltona High School in Deltona, Florida, prior to attending the University of Oklahoma on a University Fellowship.
