Edmond Memorial High School Advanced Women's Chorus
The Advanced Women’s Chorus from Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, Oklahoma has enjoyed a long tradition of excellence. This open enrollment choir of junior and senior women has consistently won the State Choral Contest Sweepstakes award and has won contests in Dallas, Chicago, and New York City. The chorus has been an OMEA Honor Choir and is honored to be selected to appear as a demonstration choir for the 2009 ACDA National Convention.
Rebekah Martin has been teaching for 22 years and is currently in her 5th year at Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. She has previously held teaching positions in Midwest City-Del City Public Schools and Mounds Public Schools. A native Oklahoman, Martin graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in music education. Her groups have won state and national level contests, have consistently won Sweepstakes Awards at the State Choral Contest, and have been selected to appear at the OMEA state convention. Rebekah is an active clinician and adjudicator in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. She is a member of MENC, ACDA, OEA, and the VoiceCare Network.
