WILLIAM JEWELL COLLEGE – Director of Choral Studies

Full-time, tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor.  Experienced collegiate-level choral conductor and teacher to conduct Concert and Chapel Choirs; coordinate vocal chamber music ensembles and student teaching; arrange annual national and/or international tours; collaborate with instrumental music faculty, the College Organist, and the Chaplain to present concerts, services, and other events; recruit students; maintain a record of active professional performance, service, and scholarship; promote the visibility of the choral program locally and regionally; serve as academic advisor and on departmental and college-wide committees.  Depending upon the candidate’s areas of interest and expertise, teaching load may include courses in choral conducting and literature, secondary choral methods, vocal/choral techniques, applied voice, and courses within the college’s distinctive core curriculum.  Qualifications: Completed doctorate preferred; ABD with projected completion date of August 2010 or outstanding professional experience considered; record of excellence at the college/university-level (beyond graduate assistantships) required; public school teaching experience and liberal arts college background strongly preferred.    Start date: August 2010.  Please send curriculum vitae including list of references, three recent letters of recommendation, transcripts, and DVD of recent performances/rehearsals to:
