World Choir Games Begin this Week

The World Choir Games begin this week in Shaoxing, China, with choral participation from around the world. Choral directors, choirs, and other leaders from the American Choral Directors Association will be significantly represented at this year's international event. The World Choir Games were created to inspire people to witness the beauty and strength of cultural interaction through the choral art.

The World Choir Games are organized for amateur choirs from all over the
world, and represent every choral music genre. The World Choir Games
are held every two years, and are moved from continent to continent. The
site of this year's event is Shaoxing, China, a city located on the
southern edge of the Yangtze Delta, not far from Shanghai. Shaoxing is a
flourishing metropolis with a long history.

The next World Choir Games will take place July 4-14, 2012, in the
United States. The city of Cincinnati, Ohio, will host this
international choral event, and will be co-sponsored by the American
Choral Directors Association.
