I AM PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF ACDA

I just wanted to write a quick note to say that I am proud to be a member of ACDA. I wasn't always, and I initially signed up for the group so some students could audition for a honor choir. And even with those circumstances, I am proud that I have been and am trying to be an active member of this organization.
The National convention in Oklahoma City has been a great opportunity to meet other directors and colleagues in the area of choral music. I am SO thankful that I came to the convention and I believe that every penny (and then some) has been worth it.
From the workshops, round tables, exhibits, shuttle services, concerts, and the City of Oklahoma City, every single thing has been top notch and I know that a lot of the credit is due to our executive board. THANK YOU.
Finally, the real reason I felt compelled to write this (at 9:40pm, Friday of the convention), I was overwhelmed at the ceremony at the OKC Bomb Memorial this morning. This was by far and away one of the classiest events, and just the thought of it brings tears to my eyes. The true message of hope and peace is one that we can all strive for and maybe, just maybe with the POWER OF MUSIC--we can get there.
Well, I hope that someone reads this little "rant," but if not, at least it was written.

THANKS ACDA--

P.S. Thank you to all of those who I met in trying to meet a choral teacher from each state (as of this writing, I am at 33 states).
