Suwon International Choral Competition & Festival 2009
Suwon City, South Korea announces the 2009 Suwon Internaiontal Choral Competition and Festival for 2009. The competition will be held Monday, October 5 thru Friday, October 9 at the Gyeonggi Arts Center, Suwon's first outdoor music hall.
Suwon is a world-class city with Unesco World Cultural Heritage. The city was planned and built by King Jeongjo, the 22nd King of the Joseon Dynasty in the 18th century. Suwon is located close to the capital of Korea, Seoul, and has many cultural artifacts in adition to world-reknown tourist attractions including Everland and Korea Traditional Folk Village. Suwon city operates the Civic Arts Company which nurtures orchestras and choirs and presents the Sowon International Concert under the leadership of Music Director and Maestro Myeong-hun Chung.
Choirs must consist of 20 or more members. The particpation fee is $300 US per team and the deadline to submit your application, participation fee and list of participating members is July 24, 2009.
