Full-time High School Choir Director

Seeking a director for a vibrant, strong, and highly active choral program in an arts-supportive school district. Experienced directors preferred.

* Full-time accompanist
* Five choirs:

+ Beginning Women, non-auditioned
+ Beginning Men, non-auditioned
+ Intermediate Women, auditioned
+ Advanced Large Mixed Concert Choir, auditioned
+ Advanced Mixed Chamber, auditioned

* All advanced choirs consistently receive Superior ratings, this year unanimous Superiors.
* Intermediate and Beginning choirs receive Superior and Excellent ratings. This year, the men received a Superior.

This opening is for Mt. Whitney High School in the Visalia Unified School District in California, located approximately half way between Bakersfield and Fresno. This district has four high schools, all of which have the above listed choirs. All high schools have a very long tradition of choral excellence as well as all the schools in a 30-mile radius. It is truly a joy to work in such an environment with great colleagues.

The students are terrific and the parents and administration are very supportive. Visalia is a great family-oriented community, population of 110,000 with parks, great restaurants, plenty of shopping, and great local produce in the #1 agriculture county of the world. It is three hours to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and the beaches and 45 minutes to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
