Local Zing! Quartet Wins International Gold!

Tulsa, Okla., Oct. 30, 2009 – Sweet Adelines International crowned Zing!
quartet as the new Queens of Harmony on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, in
Nashville, Tenn. The judges and audience were wowed by Zing! as they
sang breathtaking barbershop harmony and delivered witty sidebars
throughout the entertainment package. The International Quartet
competition was part of Sweet Adelines International’s 63rd annual
convention and competition.

Zing! members are Michelle Hunget, Susan Ives, Mary Rhea, and Melynnie
Williams, all from different parts of Oklahoma and Kansas. Mary is the
newest member of the quartet, who replaced the former baritone this past
January. Zing! has performed for the last eight years and shared the
International stage each of those years. They placed in the top 10 three
times at International competition and were blown away when they were
crowned first place quartet champions this year.

Before Zing! was formed three members of the quartet performed at the
international level with other quartets. Susan is the only member of
Zing! that has formerly been crowned as a past international quartet
champion when the quartet she sang in at the time, Classic Edition, took
the title in 1998.

First place did not come without hours of practice, coaching and lots of
fun in between. “It has all been a wonderful journey,” explained
Michelle.

Zing! quartet sings and performs at various events throughout the year,
including regional events and chapter shows that span the country. For
