The 1-2-3's of applying for student membership using the $5 first-year membership program

Are you a student? The Student Membership Initiative can allow you to join ACDA for only $5 your first year.


Do you qualify for this initiative?

There are two conditions for your participation:

1. With a few exceptions by state, you must be a new ACDA member.
This initiative is for new ACDA members only. Any exceptions to this rule are made by state leadership for their state, and are noted as a modification to the program. Click here to see the list of participating states with any modifications noted.

2. You must reside in a state that has chosen to participate in the program.


Complete the membership form online & print it.

If you qualify, click here to go to complete the special membership form online (no handwritten forms accepted).


Mail the form with payment to the National Office.

Put your completed and printed form, along with payment, in the mail to:

The deadline for joining ACDA under this program, unless noted differently below, is June 30, 2017. If you join and pay online using the usual system, you will pay the normal student rate of $35. We are not able to refund regular student dues to let you switch to this program, so please read the requirements carefully.
