For Conference attendees whose travel plans allow them to arrive in Kansas City the day before the Conference starts, there will be early registration and a ‘Welcome to KC – Kaleidoscope Concert’.  Registration will open in the afternoon followed by the Kaleidoscope Concert will provide ACDA members with an official “Choral Welcome to Kansas City” by some of the wonderful ensembles in their choral community.  The Concert will be held in Helzberg Hall (Kauffman Center) at 8:00 p.m. and will feature the Allegro Choirs (Christy Elsner and Gretchen Harrison, conductors), Kantorei KC (Christopher Munce, conductor), Isaac Cates and ‘The Ordained’ and the Heartland Men’s Chorus (Dustin Cates, conductor).

The Gold and Blue Tracks will feature the same performances. The difference between tracks is performance dates and times. Wednesday: The Singing Sergeants and international groups: Chen Yi-Bode, St. Stanslav, Ansan City Choir, and the Nairobi Chamber Chorus. Thursday: Kansas City Symphony, Chorus Bloch Sacred Service, and the Tallahassee Community Chorus. Friday: Capital University, Seraphic Fire, and Voz en Punto beginning at 7:30pm. Saturday: Kansas City Chorale beginning at 8:45pm. Attendees will also be able to attend the premier of Will Todd’s ‘Passion Music,’ the Legacy Chorus, and the Kaleidoscope Concert.

The Robert Shaw Choral Award is given to a choral leader who has made unusual contributions to the art of choral music. The recipient is chosen by the ACDA Past Presidents' Council. The Robert Shaw Choral Award is presented during each National Conference. Hors d’oeuvres and a bar will be available with two complimentary drink tickets per guest.
