Decisions regarding ACDA National conference COVID-19 protocols will be based on the following three-tiered approach at the time of the conference:
A) CDC guidance: At the time of the conference, ACDA will reference the CDC community map tool (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/covid-by-county.html) to determine the level of community spread and may adopt the recommended protocols, such as masking while indoors when community level spread is high. Cincinnati, Ohio is located in Hamilton county.
B) State and city mandates: ACDA will honor the COVID-19 mandates of our host state of Ohio and our host city of Cincinnati that may be in place at the time of the conference. Attendees and performers will be required to abide by any mandates that may be in place. As of August 20, 2022, there are currently no mandates in place.
C) Venue mandates: ACDA will honor the COVID-19 policies of our host venues while in Cincinnati. Attendees and performers will be required to abide by any mandates that may be in place. As of August 20, 2022, there are currently no policies in place.
It is impossible to predict the protocols that may be in effect in Cincinnati in February 2023. ACDA recognizes our membership has varying degrees of agreement with the protocols that may be in place while at the conference. ACDA cannot modify the mandates that may be in place and exemptions will not be possible. By being transparent in our decision-making process and expectations for conference attendance and performance, we hope that everyone will know how to plan for conference this year.
Additionally,
· ACDA strongly recommends that all attendees and participants are aware of their own personal health status and take the applicable steps recommended by the CDC related to vaccinations prior to attending a conference.
· The policies and guidelines of the CDC, states, cities, and venues continue to change. All attendees and participants should expect to continuously monitor this information in order to have the most accurate information as conference time approaches. This information will be available on the National conference website at www.acda.org/conferences.
