Student Community on Lodestar
An online discussion among choral education students. Please register and participate – no membership required! In addition to being a place where you can ask questions of your peers and offer your thoughts and suggestions, we also have special guests drop by periodically. They have included Dr. Karyl Carlson (Illiniois State University) and Dr. Gary Packwood (Mississippi State University). Are you in? Yes?
- Go to the Lodestar site at https://mentoring.acda.org/ and hit “Create Account.”
- Create your account, then sign in.
- Go to your profile and join the Student Community (left column).
Once we approve your registration, go ahead and introduce yourself.

- Choral Journal in e-journal format, which regularly includes columns aimed at student interests
- ACDA’s electronic journals ChorTeach (for the music educator) and the International Journal for Research in Choral Singing (for scholarly choral articles)

Conferences
- Full conference and state meetings options, including graduate credit and Continuing Education Units for qualifying national and regional conference activities
