His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue his EdD from North Central University in San Diego, California, cementing his commitment to continuous growth and development in his field.Derrick’s formative years were marked by a transformative mentorship under the tutelage of the legendary choral musician, Moses Hogan, with whom he studied and performed for thirteen remarkable years.
