Diego Pinto

Bio: Diego Pinto is a PhD student in music education at Northwestern University. A native of Brazil, Mr. Pinto holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro and a master’s degree in music education from Louisiana State University. His academic interests include world music pedagogy focusing on music of the African diaspora and the relationship between music enculturation and perceptions of self and identity. Before his studies at Northwestern, Diego Pinto directed middle and high school choirs for seven years in Louisiana.
