Kyle Barker has taught at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana, for ten years. In a choral program of 460 students, he directs four ensembles, including the award-winning Carmel Ambassadors, the school’s advanced mixed concert/show choir. He also assists with other choirs in the program and works with the school’s musicals. He holds a degree in music education with a minor in choral conducting from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and is currently pursuing an MME with emphasis on conducting and rehearsal techniques at Butler University. Outside of his responsibilities at Carmel High School, Barker is a freelance clinician and adjudicator for groups and competitions around the country. When not working, he enjoys running, watching movies, reading books, traveling, and spending quality time with his family, his friends, and his two cats.
