Magnum Chorum

Magnum Chorum

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Conductor, Dwight Jilek

Magnum Chorum brings transforming artistry and spirit to choral music. Founded in 1991 in the choral tradition of St. Olaf College, the fifty-five-voice choir presents meaningful concerts, commissions and premieres new works, and provides music for worship. The choir welcomes singers of all backgrounds devoted to our mission and core values. Under the direction of Dr. Jilek, Magnum Chorum was invited to perform at Minnesota ACDA (2018), the Chorus America Virtual Convention (2020), and was the featured choral ensemble from Minneapolis-St. Paul for the 2022 Latvian Song and Dance Festival featuring Eriks Esenvalds and the Latvian choir Anima. In 2023, the choir embarked on their first international tour, traveling to Sweden and Norway. The name Magnum Chorum conveys our mission to express the divine and the infinite through voice, music, and text.
