Tallgrass Chamber Choir

Tallgrass Chamber Choir

Lawrence, Kansas

Conductor, Jacob Narverud

The Tallgrass Chamber Choir, founded in 2009 by Artistic Director Jacob Narverud, is an ensemble of professional musicians from across the Great Plains. Named after the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in the Flint Hills of Kansas, the ensemble draws their inspiration from the region’s natural beauty and heritage. Tallgrass performs a wide variety of choral repertoire, from medieval to contemporary works, with a special focus on historically significant yet underperformed music as well as newly commissioned works by leading national and international composers. Tallgrass is frequently engaged to record new music for major publishers and distributors, including Alliance, Carl Fischer, Hal Leonard, JW Pepper, Santa Barbara Music Publishing, and Walton Music.
