Westin Sorrel is a doctoral student in choral conducting at the University of Missouri- Kansas City, where he serves as a graduate assistant, instructing undergraduate Choral and Vocal Techniques, undergraduate choral conducting, and directing the Choral Union. He also works as the director of music ministry at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Prior to moving to Kansas City, Sorrel served as a graduate assistant at Michigan State University and was the conductor of the Chancel Choir at The Presbyterian Church of Okemos. Originally from Denver, Colorado, he taught at Dakota Ridge High School from 2015 to 2023. As a singer, Sorrel has performed with ensembles including Colorado Bach Ensemble, Anima Chamber Ensemble, and St. Martin’s Chamber Choir. He holds degrees from Michigan State University and Colorado State University.
