Delaware Choral Scholars

Delaware Choral Scholars

University of Delaware
Newark, Delaware

Conductor, Paul Head

Delaware Choral Scholars found its genesis as the choir in residence for a choral symposium in France that ran from 2014 to 2019. Following the pandemic, the project-based ensemble refocused on a broad range of projects that have taken the choir to Western and Eastern Europe and Oceania, with future endeavours slated for Africa and South America. The auditioned ensemble brings together students, alumni, and singers from across the United States to focus on collaborative music making, meaningful repertoire, and connecting with other artists through performance and exchange. Most recently, the ensemble has received top prizes at several international competitions, including Tolosa (Spain, 2025); Marktoberdorf (Germany, 2025); the World Choir Games (New Zealand, 2024); and Llangollen (Wales, 2023). DCS has sustained the #1 spot on Interkultur’s World Rankings List since 2024.
