Jeffery Coulter

Jeffery Coulter is in his twentieth year as an educator, having spent his entire career at Sumrall High School. As choral director for grades 9-12, he leads the Concert Choir, Legacy Show Choir, advanced women’s choir, and pop a cappella group, Traces of Blue. His ensembles consistently earn superior ratings in performance and sight-reading. Under his direction, Traces of Blue has found success in the International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA), including a Southern Quarterfinal win (2023), a Southern Semifinal Championship and Finals appearance in New York City (2024), and semifinal appearances with second-place finishes in 2025 and 2026. His choirs have performed across the United States. Coulter was named Teacher of the Year (2017, 2022) and received the MMEA Outstanding Music Educator Award (2024).
