Building a Culture of Student Leadership

Sarah Leaman
Timber Creek High School

Wesley Roy
University of Miami

Session Abstract: When students feel part of a safe environment, learning is possible. When students use leadership skills to create that environment, the results are astounding. In this session, presented in collaboration between directors and student officers, we will look at ways to build student leadership, and in turn strong communities in choral programs of any size, age level, or background. Whether you are just starting down this path, or are looking for fresh ideas for a program that is already established, this session will have something for you and your students.
