Contemporary German Choral Music
Session Abstract: What choral works by diverse living composers in Germany should American conductors and teachers know? How are German choral directors finding repertoire by composers from historically excluded groups? In recent years Germany has experienced profound demographic shifts due to immigration. How has this impacted the choral experience and repertoire selection for German choirs. For this session we welcome ACDA’s 7 guest conductors chosen by the German Choral Organization as participants in ACDA’s International Conductor Exchange. They will present a variety of new choral music from their home country for all types of choirs.
